The Guide describes MMK as "known for respected employment and labour relations practice handling a breadth of contentious and non-contentious work. Irene is a seasoned litigator who was in December 2020 feted as one of the four top lawyers in the country and awarded "Lawyer of the Year" by the Law Society of Kenya, Nairobi branch. Irene sub-specializes in employment and labour relations for which she has established outstanding reputation and expertise. She represents and advises a wide portfolio of clients in nearly all aspects of employment and labour related matters.

She recently (2020) co-authored "Kashindis' Digest of Employment Cases," currently the leading publication analysing key court decisions on important labour law issues.
